YORK®, winner of Trusted Brand Award, unveils unmatched product range

Johnson Controls’ building solutions and services meet diverse customer needs for residential, commercial and industrial applications

YORK®, winner of the Trusted Brand Award, showcases its unmatched portfolio of Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) products to meet the diverse cooling needs and budgets of customers in Malaysia at optimal energy efficiency.

The range on display at REVAC 2016, one of Southeast Asia’s largest HVACR events, includes:

  • Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems with capacities of 4 (3 kW) to 54 HP (40 kW) and high Coefficient of Performance [1] (COP) of up to 4;
  • Water-cooled screw chillers with capacity ranging between 97 tons (340 kW) to 433 tons (1,500 kW) with COP as high as 6.37 and Integrated Part Load Value [2] (IPLV) of up to 9.56 for some of the models;
  • High-end YMC2 with capacity of up to 1,000 tons (3,500 kW), capable of achieving IPLV of more than 11.

Johnson Controls is pushing the technical front on advanced chillers with YMC2. The chiller uses magnetic levitation technology – first applied by the company in mission-critical nuclear submarines – in its driveline to spin without friction. This not only results in extremely high energy efficiency and ultra-quiet operation of 70 dBA; its fewer moving parts also means less servicing, longer motor life and greater reliability.

Apart from being a technology leader, YORK is also a market leader in Malaysia’s HVACR sector. From large tonnage chillers for complex applications to environmentally-friendly five-star energy-efficient products for residences, YORK has a strong track record in Malaysia.

“YORK instills confidence and is trusted in Malaysia, having been in this country since 1978 and having cooled some of Malaysia’s most iconic buildings including Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, Pavilion and Mid Valley City. So I am really pleased to announce today that we have been honored with the Trusted Brand Award by Reader’s Digest for the 13th consecutive year,” said Douglas Toh, general manager of products distribution, Building Efficiency Malaysia, Johnson Controls. The Award is based on a survey with ordinary consumers on what brands are important to them.

To help customers select the system that best delivers energy efficiency at the best price point while lowering life-cycle cost, Johnson Controls experts can guide customers through a thorough analysis. Furthermore, the company also offers airside products and Metasys®building automation systems that integrate well with its HVACR products.

“This is where the sum is more than its parts. We want to give our customers the best value and experience through a convenient, one-stop reference point for building solutions and services. With a response time of not more than four hours, our service standards are one of the highest in the industry,” said Ken Lim, general manager, Building Efficiency Malaysia, Johnson Controls.
