Sir Richard Branson, Ted Turner and more than 50 CEOs at World Climate

Sir Richard Branson, Ted Turner and more than 500 global entrepreneurs, innovators and CEOs will convene on Sunday 6 December, at the annual World Climate Summit and Sustainia Award Ceremony during the historic COP21 in Paris (www.cop21.org).

Throughout the one-day event, more than 50 CEOs, business, finance and government leaders will discuss business solutions to climate change and promote the best available solutions to the world at the Hotel Potocki, Paris, France, to complement an ambitious global deal on climate change.

The World Climate Summit will include high-level plenary sessions and workshops led by innovative speakers, featuring proven concepts within sustainable business, finance and governance. The programme will conclude with the Sustainia Award Ceremony highlighting solutions and innovations from different sectors of society; the best solutions for COP21 and a sustainable future.

Highlights include:

  • Sustainia Awards given to the best available sustainable solutions
  • A Life Time Achievement Award presented to Ted Turner
  • Workshops on complementing and supporting a strong bottom-up movement with business

“Businesses are looking beyond positioning and defense mechanisms, and investigating opportunities for innovation around low-carbon and resource efficient products and approaches. Bottom-up actions to climate change are now an accepted element of the COP negotiations and a key driver behind green growth. The array of leading solutions presented today by our partners is a living proof of this.” says André Schneider, Chairman, World Climate Ltd.

Erik Rasmussen, Founder, Sustainia says: “Sustainia’s mission is to answer one simple question: How do we build the sustainable world of tomorrow with the solutions of today? During the last four years we have documented and communicated that they exist by the thousands, in all parts of the world. As a matter of fact, we are witnessing a solution revolution. In Paris we will honor some of the most outstanding solutions and changemakers.”

World Climate Summit on Sunday December 6, 2015, is the original business, finance and government leaders conference during COP21. Since 2009, it has been the annual global forum along the UNFCCC COP where CEOs, and other leaders meet to discuss solutions to climate change.
