Sydney Olympic Park: Australian clean energy company SilexSolar Pty Ltd today announced the launch of SilexSolarDirect, a Factory Direct online service for Australian Solar Retailers.
SilexSolar General Manager Rod Seares said the move would reduce retailers’ exposure to fluctuating foreign exchange rates and overstocks.
“The launch of SilexSolarDirect has opened our factory gates to Solar Retailers across Australia, matching our growing factory capacity,” Seares said. “Our output has grown by almost 300% since we opened Australia’s only solar cell and module factory in 2009.”
The option to purchase solar modules through SilexSolar Distributors remains, but retailers who would prefer a Factory Direct relationship can now purchase directly through the recently launched web site: https://www.silexsolardirect.com.au/
Increasingly, Solar Retailers have purchased solar panels by the container-l oad, predominantly from Asia. With lead times of many months and a rapidly changing market, many Solar Retailers – and solar consumers - have approached SilexSolar asking for help.
“The Australian PV market has been incredibly volatile in recent times,” Seares said. “This has left many Solar Retailers highly exposed to variable foreign exchange rates and often with huge quantities of stock.
“A key element of SilexSolarDirect is that it offers product virtually straight off the production line in small pallet-sized quantities.”
SilexSolar is confident that the combination of a simple on-line order process and small shipments will reduce the costs and risks for thousands of small Solar Retailers Australia wide.
“Australian solar consumers have been fabulously supportive of our Australian made product and this important step will reduce the lead time, cost and complexity of getting solar p anels direct from our factory to your roof,” said Seares.
