Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology synergises with two MF fairs

The Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair will continue its goal of providing a top regional platform for China’s rapidly growing intelligent building market, as it holds its 8th edition from 3 – 5 September 2014.

Jointly organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Shanghai Pudong Sub-Council and Shanghai Hongshan Exhibition Service Co Ltd, the fair is expected to play host to over 150 exhibitors, and utilise 10,000 sqm of exhibition space.

Apart from being held concurrently with ISH Shanghai & CIHE – the Shanghai International Trade Fair for Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning, the 2014 Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair will also take place with the inaugural edition of the Shanghai International Lighting Fair, an event focused on catering to the growing project-based lighting market of China.

The fairs will provide a fully-comprehensive platform for demonstrating intelligent building technologies as well as energy efficient solutions. Collectively, the three shows are expected to cover 40,000 sqm in scale, and attract visitors from a wide range of disciplines, including system integrators, architects, engineering designers, contractors and many more.

Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd commented: “We are excited for the 2014 fair’s new development. With the combined force of the Shanghai International Lighting fair, the three concurrent shows will offer industry players strong synergy opportunities, and provide them a one-stop platform for entry into China’s intelligent building market.”

This year, the show will focus on the core themes currently highest in popularity across China: building efficiency, intelligent cities and smart homes. In addition, three zones will be dedicated to the 2014 show, including the returning zone on Building Energy Saving, Energy Management & Building Automation; new thematic zones on Generic Cabling and Data Centres and Home Technology, allowing both exhibitors and visitors to maximise their time in targeting appropriate buyers and finding the right solutions.

In terms of exhibitors, the show has already secured brands specialising in building energy saving, including ABB, Longchuang, HaiLin, Lierda, SenseAir and Maxthing. Leading brands and associations from the smart home industry such as Control 4, EnOcean Alliance, KNX Association, Wulian, Nantong Boyun, Hi-Champ Technology, TCS, GRIDLINK, Savekey Technology and Wintom have also confirmed their participation.

One of the most unique aspects to the Shanghai show is the strong seminars and conferences lineup held alongside the main exhibition each year. In 2014 edition, supported by prominent industry associations including Engineering Intelligent Design Branch of China Exploration and Design Association, China Cabling Team (C-TEAM), KNX Association, zigbee Alliance, EnOcean Alliance and China Smart Home Industry Alliance, the value-added events will offer insight to the latest developments and trends in the industry. Confirmed sessions include:

  • KNX Technical Seminar
  • China Smart Home Industry Alliance Forum
  • Data Centre and Cabling Systems Forum
  • Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology - Building Standard Forum
  • Shanghai International Intelligent Building Development Symposium
  • Smart Cities and Intelligent Building Designs Forum
  • Abuilding.cn Salon

Intelligent green building and energy efficiency: the keys to China’s future development

With a strong focus on urbanisation, China’s booming building construction is expected to lead the development of over 300 smart cities across the country. Key solutions strongest in demand is the implementation of intelligent and green building technologies, as well as energy efficiency within buildings to sustain the country’s economic growth.

Current government estimations expect over 1 billion square meters of green buildings to be constructed by 2015, accounting for 20 per cent of all new buildings in the country. This percentage is expected to rise to 30 per cent by 2020, with an overall value of USD 246 billion.

Energy efficiency, a concept closely related to green building development, is also anticipated to be widely adopted in both new and existing buildings in China over the next few years. In fact, current national goals project at least 95% of all new buildings in China to meet the country’s new energy efficiency standards by 2015.

The Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair will showcase the latest solution and technologies of the aforementioned areas and offer unparalleled opportunities to the industry players.

The Shanghai fair is a part of Messe Frankfurt’s building and energy shows, headed by the biennial Light + Building event in Frankfurt, which will take place from 13 – 18 March 2016. The show also follows a series of light and building technology events in China, including:
