Ronser Bio-Tech Berhad, from Malaysia, wiins BID International

New York hosted this year’s BID International Quality Summit Convention, where professionals and business leaders from around the world gathered to recognise excellence and success. In particular, the convention celebrated quality in business and operations. Award winners demonstrated commitment to the criteria of the QC100 TQM Model, which helps bolster customer satisfaction and cost efficiency across all areas of operation.

Among this year’s winners, Woo Min Fong of Ronser Bio-Tech Berhad, from Malaysia, received the International Quality Summit Award in the Gold Category at the BID Quality Convention in New York. The organisation has made huge strides this year as a leader not only within its sector, but also in Malaysia. The Award came as an ideal way to celebrate this past year’s successes while looking forward to putting quality first in the year to come.

Considered the world’s most important city economically and culturally, New York is the reference point for international businesses. With a population of over 8 million inhabitants within an area of 1,214 square kilometers, it is distinguished among other cosmopolitan cities as the location of the United Nations and with its stock market as the center of the global economy. It is also a cultural and entertainment center with a wealth of monuments of great historical value: the Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, its museums, most notably the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), the center of theatrical productions (Broadway) and the location of the world’s most visited media enclave- Times Square, all of which have made it the perfect city to present the B.I.D. International Quality Awards.

Woo Min Fong stood before the gathering of international leaders, sharing the company’s achievements to date as well as its future ambitions and goals. Despite the difficult current global economic climate, Ronser Bio-Tech Berhad strives to excel in quality each day, creating a competitive advantage in its industry. For this reason, Ronser Bio-Tech Berhad won the 2016 BID International Quality Summit Award in New York. The Award is presented by BID to those companies and organisations from around the world that best adhere to excellence and innovation in their practices, putting quality first at all levels of organisation.

Leaders awarded by BID are united by their commitment to quality in their respective sectors. This year, winning organisations include:

ETIMADEN - Etiproducts Ltd, from Russia. As the largest producer of boron products in the world, this Russian subsidiary of Eti Maden IGM, a Turkish State-owned Companyholds 72 per cent of the world’s boron reserves and covers nearly 50 per cent of the world’s boron needs. The company’s area of boron is located in Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Georgia. Boron is a metalloid with semiconducting properties used in many fields such as agriculture, ceramic industry, oil and gas chemicals, among others.

GRUPO TORCELLO Estación Central Buenos Aires from Argentina. Founded in 1998, this investment company has work internationally with countries like Brazil and the U.S.A., in the development of important public and private projects such as the Porto Belo harbor. It has also been in charge of major construction projects in Argentina, such as the remodelling and expansion of the Palace of Justice and the construction of the River Plate Forum.

Graphic Era University, from India. Specialised in engineering, computer applications, management and sciences studies, it has been recognised for its academic excellence. With important collaborations with IBM, Infosys, Microsoft and Oracle, the University offers its students the opportunity to participate in courses, and programs, and provides them educational material to improve professional and technical skills. Community support is carried out through several initiatives, including blood donation and disaster relief campaigns.

Qtech (Wuhan ) Software Co., Ltd, from China. Founded in 2008 with clients in over 35 countries, it provides the latest business solutions, such as analysis technologies to improve performance and quality, identifying opportunities and optimising savings. With five offices in China and distributors in Europe, USA, Singapore and Philippines, it offers an alternative to classic technologies through its first-class management information systems which adapted for use within the Six Sigma initiative.

Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited, from Angola. This Chevron subsidiary, operating in Angola since 1958, is one of the top petroleum producers in the country,with an average net daily production that in 2014 attained 114,000 barrels of liquids and over 2 million m3 of natural gas. Working with Sonangol, Angola’s national oil company, it has invested more than $215 million since 1988 in programs related to health, education and economic development, to create value for the community and business.

The companies honoured in New York were recognised not only for their entrepreneurial achievements, but also for their dedication to continuous improvement and innovation, key concepts of the QC100 Total Quality Management Model. Seeking to increase customer satisfaction and optimise efficiency, the model promotes an organisational culture of engagement and a proactive approach to improving processes.

All of the winning companies in New York have expressed their commitment to the QC100 TQM Model, which serves as an excellent example for other organisations in today’s rapidly changing business environment. By making customer satisfaction the highest measure of quality, BID award winners set the benchmark in their respective sectors and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries, paving the way for world-changing initiatives.
