Phoenix Solar Pte Ltd (“Phoenix Solar”) has signed a contract with Katoen Natie Singapore (Jurong) Pte Ltd (“KNS”) for the construction of a rooftop solar PV system on Jurong Island, Singapore with a capacity of 1.188MWp.
KNS is a subsidiary of the Belgium headquartered global supplier of logistics and distribution services Katoen Natie. They are not new to solar energy. Katoen Natie owns Belgium’s largest rooftop PV system - a 24.1MWp power plant located at the Loghidden City terminal, Antwerp. The currently installed capacity of rooftop PV at Katoen Natie premises totals approx. 48 MWp. With this new installation in Singapore, they are extending their green energy portfolio to Asia.
The PV system will be installed on one of KNS’s warehouses located at Jurong island. Upon completion 4’752 REC crystalline solar modules and 51 SMA string inverters will generate approximately 1’500 megawatt hours of solar electricity per year. This will mitigate around 750 metric tonnes of CO2 per year from gas-fired power plants.
