The International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) has teamed with iCompli, a division of international auditing firm BPA Worldwide, to offer its members the opportunity to earn certification to the ASTM/APEX standard for exhibition and event industry sustainability.
The standards were created by industry leaders to develop best practices criteria to improve the overall sustainability of an event. This agreement will offer IAEE members a discounted rate for achieving the iCompli certification.
“IAEE fully supports the movement toward making exhibitions and events more environmentally friendly and socially responsible,” said IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “Exhibition and event organizers who meet and/or exceed the ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meeting Standards deserve the recognition the iCompli certification merits, so making this program more accessible to IAEE members is a win-win for everyone.”

The iCompli certification process demonstrates compliance with recommended guidelines of industry bodies and government regulations, as well as self-declared or internal policies and controls. The service is offered through iCompli, an independent third-party certification body endorsed by the Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC), the industry organization that led the development of the standards. Certified applicants receive an official certification letter and certificate of compliance, recognition on the ASTM/APEX registry, and may purchase a customized plaque for display.
