The Green Mind Award Season 2 Ceremony that was eagerly awaited by many people, companies and media took place at the Casino Du Liban Theater - Lebanon on Thursday April 3rd, 2014 and marked the end of the competition that started in August 2013.
The event toured the MENA region in search of the top green achievements in the fields of sustainability and protection of the environment.
Organized by Green Mind NGO and e-EcoSolutions, produced by Faraj Aoun, Executive Producer – LBCI, and supported by dozens of local and international organizations, The Green Mind Award Season 2 once again, dazzled its audience with one of the Greenest Award Ceremonies in the Middle East!
Nine winners were announced in a green & glamorous atmosphere that accompanied the attendees from the minute they stepped into the Casino and until the very last moment of the event. Many people showed up in hybrid cars to show their support for the environment.
A number of superb hybrid cars were also waiting to drive the guests from the parking spot to the theater entrance where the famous Green Carpet was waiting for them to add a touch of glamour to the green environment. For the first time in Lebanon and in the MENA region, the Green Carpet witnessed the arrival of celebrities, VIPs and numerous guests in “Eco-friendly Outfits”, each in his own special way.
The guests were supporting the reduction of the carbon footprint of the evening in all possible ways, and were even contributing to plant trees as part of the national reforestation campaign.
As the Award Ceremony started in the Casino Theater, 27 finalists with 27 exceptional environmental projects were impatiently waiting for the results of the competition to be revealed and for the winners of each category to be announced. The competition had received over 250 participations and engaged 22 distinguished international Jury Panel members for the evaluation process. And the final winners were:

The awards were delivered by members of the Green Mind Award International Jury Panel, accompanied by figures and celebrities who believe in Green achievements, namely: Minister of Environment Mr. Mohamed Al Machnouk, Mona Tayeh, Rania Baroud, Ward El Khal, Daniella Rahme, Rodolphe Hilal, Raja Naser El Dine.
The ceremony received as well the special presence of May Chidiac, Talal Makdessi, Arze Chidiac, Fadi Haddad, Diana rizk, Myriam Klink, Bruno Tabbal, Michel Azzi and Wajih Sakr.
Green Mind also thanked BankMed, and Civic Influence Hub for their contributions to the protection of the environment and presented each with a commemorative award, outside the competition.
The ceremony program that was introduced by the keynote addresses of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Mr. Carlos Ghosn; and received the key performances of the Lebanese Star Melhem Zein; had its fair share of the green & glamorous atmosphere and included Green Live Entertainment such as the outstanding percussion show by the famous Daneel Sayegh – finalist of “Arabs Got Talent” played on a full set of recycled materials! , an inspiring “Sing For The Climate” song by EN FA MI Opera Group, spectacular performances by 8ème Art, the Segundo Bloco Brazilian band, and the Moonlite Sand Art live show.
“Our event does not end tonight” said Mrs. Nada Zaarour, President of Green Mind “In fact, our team will be following up with all the participants of Season 2 and gathering them in one-on-one meetings with potential investors on June 9 – Green Mind Day in an effort to give them chances to develop, expand and duplicate their Green achievements”.
The Award Ceremony was produced by LBCI and will be soon transmitted on TV, expectedly during the International Earth Week.
