The application deadline for the Glencore Xstrata Energy Leaders Scholarship for domestic students to study the Master of Energy Studies program has been extended to 15 November 2013.
Glencore Xstrata, in collaboration with The International Energy Centre (IEC), provides scholarships to a small number of talented individuals who have been accepted into the Master of Energy Studies (MES). These $22,000 scholarships are awarded to applicants who clearly demonstrate the potential to become leading decision makers in the energy sector.
The Master of Energy Studies (CRICOS code 073264E at the University of Queensland) is a highly innovative program providing a unique trans-disciplinary, co-badged, industry focused Master’s degree for professionals seeking to have an impact on the transition to a low carbon future.

The International Energy Centre’s courses are designed for professionals from a diverse range of disciplines across industry, government, research organisations and non-government organisations (NGOs). Teaching is provided by the universities of Queensland, Western Australia and Newcastle, all leaders in the areas of climate change and energy research.
Glencore Xstrata’s involvement includes bringing a business perspective to these issues providing advice on the curriculum, supporting students with scholarships, and providing opportunities for student to get practical experience to support their coursework.
Scholarships are available to eligible domestic applicants wishing to study the Master of Energy Studies. The next program intake is scheduled for Semester 1 (February), 2014.
