DP CleanTech and China Everbright International in deal to build 3 more 30MW biomass power plants

DP CleanTech announced the signing of 3 contracts with China Everbright International Limited to build 3 x 30MW straw-fired biomass power plants in China.

This brings the number of Everbright International plants in China using DP technology to 5; and the total number of DP power plants in China to 55, which represents over 30% market share. The Everbright International’s biomass plants will also be optimized to handle additional fuel types including rice husk, cornstalk, wood chip, and cotton and bean residues.

The multi-fuel capabilities maximize output and annual availability of the plants for Everbright International while utilizing seasonal local biomass waste and securing additional revenue streams for farming communities.

The projects located in Dingyuan, Huaiyuan and Lingbi, in Anhui province, will feature DP’s unique High Pressure, High Temperature boiler technology which has already been successfully demonstrated in more than 50 plants in China. DP has successfully implemented and adapted its patented, European technology to establish a leading position in the Chinese biomass market. In addition to success in Europe and China, DP is rapidly developing projects in in Southeast Asia, South America and Africa.

DP CleanTech CEO Simon Parker stated, “DP CleanTech and Everbright International have cooperated closely since 2010; and DP’s high performance solutions have been an important factor in Everbright International’s successful biomass-to-energy expansion. Our relationship has recently been further extended to collaborate on renewable energy projects outside China and through joint R&D and technological integration, we are confident that our companies are well positioned to initiate and execute environmentally beneficial energy solutions around the world.”

Everbright International’s CEO Mr. Chen Xiao Ping:
“These new biomass plants form part of our aspiration to be leaders in renewable energy solutions in China, and around the world. The collaboration with reputable companies such as DP CleanTech who have proven, advanced technologies and international expertise is an important step towards this ambition.”

Construction on Dingyuan, Huaiyuan and Lingbi plants will begin soon and is expected to complete in 2016.
