Denmark has the world’s lowest level of leakage - learn how and why

The 8th Global Leakage Summit takes place in London this year over the course of 2 days and features a two pre-conference workshops on the 26th September. It’s built a prestige over the past few years to become the world’s leading water leakage summit.

This year doesn’t fall short of greatness, as it features a global speaker faculty from Countries including: USA, Ghana, China, Egypt, Portugal, Spain, Bangladesh and more! We sat with Ole Skytte, Distribution System Manager from HOFOR (a Danish Water Utility company) to get exclusive insight into how they reduced leakage to a world record level. Questions we asked him include:

Q. In what ways did HOFOR contribute to Copenhagen being named as one of the top three cities in Europe for sustainable water management?

Q. Does HOFOR use other performance indicators for making comparisons between Danish and International water utilities?

Q. How significant are commercial losses (meter under-registration and theft) as a proportion of total volume water loss?
