Conergy, a leading German photovoltaic (PV) solution and service provider, recently signed new contracts with Negros Island Solar Power Inc. (islaSol).
islaSol is a joint venture between the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure (PINAI), a fund managed by Macquarie Infrastructure Management (Asia) Pty Limited that is dedicated to providing equity investments in Philippine infrastructure and Bronzeoak Philippines, a leader in the development and implementation of renewable energy projects to build two new solar power plants in La Carlota and Manapla in Negros Occidental which will have a combined solar capacity of 62 MWp.
Conergy previously closed six other new solar projects – including 50 MWp in Tarlac, 13 MWp in Pampanga, 18 MWp in (Bais) Negros, 15 MWp in Bulacan and 43 MWp at two locations in Luzon and Visayas. Adding these volumes to the two new islaSol contracts increases the installed base of Conergy in the country by 201 MWp, further strengthening Conergy’s foothold as the market leader of solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) in the Philippines.
Combined with the 30 MWp of new contracts Conergy also signed in Thailand and Indonesia, this brings Conergy’s total new contracts confirmed in the past three months to 231 MWp for South East Asia.

The first of the two new sites, La Carlota II, is located in Barangay Cubay, La Carlota and will have an installed capacity of 14 MWp. This is an extension of an 18-MWp solar power plant Conergy is currently building, which brings the combined capacity in La Carlota to 32 MWp. Annually, the new site is expected to produce 20,631 megawatt hours of clean electricity and save 12,646 tons of carbon (CO2) emissions. This 204,553 sqm solar power plant will generate enough energy to power 8,600 homes.
The second site, Manapla, will have an installed capacity of 48 MWp. This larger solar power plant, at 634,514 sqm, will generate 73,864 megawatt hours per year, equivalent to powering 30,777 households annually. This further reduces the country’s carbon footprint, saving up to 45,279 tons of carbon (CO2) emissions a year.
For these two new islaSol projects in La Carlota and Manapla, Conergy will be working with local partners SCHEMA Konsult Inc. and Phesco Inc, respectively for the on-ground construction. All plants are expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.
Conergy has been delivering complete solar PV solutions and turnkey products globally for 16 years, with over 400 MWp of projects closed in South East Asia and is responsible for the planning, engineering, design, project delivery and component supply of the two new solar power plants. In addition, Conergy has also been providing technical and consultancy services to Bronzeoak Philippines together with a local service contractor for the operations and maintenance of the 45 MWp SaCaSol plant.
