Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) today said it will organise its annual three-day Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES) 2016 in conjunction with the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) with several firsts.
The aim of the 2016 event is to entrench thought leadership within the clean and renewable energy industry in Singapore and create a more robust ecosystem.
Entitled “Harnessing Clean Energy for the Future”, this Summit will:
· Bring together high-level global experts in the regional solar and renewables space as part of its Clean Energy Leaders Dialogue,
· Host the PV Asia conference by embracing the theme of Solarising Asean and bringing together a Singapore-first by hosting the 26th International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC-26); and
· Facilitate the Offshore Renewables, Wave and Tidal (AWTEC) 2016 and the Asian Conference on Energy, Power and Transport Electrification (ACEPT) 2016 under its summit umbrella.
Co-organised with the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University and the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore, the Summit will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre,Marina Bay Sands, from 25 to 27 October 2016.
Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES) is Asia’s key forum focusing on clean energy technology, policy and finance supported by various government agencies, research institutes and industry experts in Singapore.
This Summit provides a common platform for regional thought leaders in both the public and private sector to collaborate on critical issues and opportunities in harnessing clean energy for the future. As the regional platform to share and co-create innovative clean energy solutions, ACES supports the vision to be a clean energy hub for Asia.
Highlights of the three-day Summit will include:
· Clean Energy Leaders’ Dialogue – a high-level forum bringing together leaders in the regional solar and renewables space.
· Solarising Singapore and ASEAN – business and technology experts in the region speak about opportunities in solar energy and solar leasing.
· Financial Summit – exciting tracks that focus on the financial aspects of PV project development, solar financing and investment.
In addition, ACES has two co-located events: The Asian Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (AWTEC 2016) and the 26th edition of the International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC-26).
ACES provides this platform for industry experts and business leaders to discuss, understand and experience Singapore’s “living laboratory” for solar adoption, the integration of renewable energy and electric vehicles, and learn how sustainable energy management is essential to liveable cities.
This Summit will gather key energy thought leaders such as Mr Jon Moore, CEO of Bloomberg New Energy Finance; Mr Steve O’Neil, CEO of Renewable Energy Corp; Mr Ditlev Engel, CEO of DNV GL–Energy; and Mr R. Andrew de Pass, Global CEO of Conergy Global Solutions GmbH as speakers in the conferences.

The Energy Research Institute @NTU (ERI@N) is a leading research institute which aims to spearhead human capital expertise in sustainable building technologies, renewable energy, energy storage, multi energy systems, electro-mobility and maritime clean energy.
The Asian Conference on Energy, Power and Transportation Electrification (ACEPT) is organised by faculty members and researchers of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to gather practicing power conversion experts from both industries and academia to address emerging electrification issues in energy and transportation areas. ACEPT is technically co-sponsored by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Power and Energy Society (PES), Power Electronics Society (PELS), and Transportation Electrification Community (TEC).
According to the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), the national institute for applied solar energy research, companies should realise that research and developments on photovoltaic materials, components, processes and systems will bring about future-ready electricity generation. SERIS is organising International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference, also known as PVSEC-26.
Prof Armin Aberle, General Chair of PVSEC-26, said: “ACES 2016 is co-located with PVSEC-26, the largest and most comprehensive solar photovoltaic (PV) science & technology conference held in Asia-Pacific in 2016.
