2012 show adds depth to eco solutions from green tech programmes

As the 2012 show approaches, Eco Expo Asia, the leading environmental protection fair in Asia, has confirmed exhibitors from a range of sectors to offer various eco solutions. Jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the show will bring together leaders from a range of sectors, including education, finance, government, infrastructure development and manufacturing from 27 – 30 October 2012 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. The fair is co-organised by the Environment Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Exhibitors for the show’s 7th edition include ASB Biodiesel (Hong Kong), Bank of China (Hong Kong), British Standard Institute, Canon, Hongkong Electric, Keppel Integrated Engineering Limited, Lutron, the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, the Science and Technology Park Corporations, SITA Waste Service Limited and Veolia Environmental Services. Coming from various industry sectors, these exhibitors see the importance their roles play to green development. And for them, Eco Expo Asia serves as the premier venue to meet, look for partners and exchange ideas with their peers.

SITA Waste Services Limited (“SITA”) is the world’s leading recycling and resource management company with long established professional knowledge and experience in the entire waste cycle. Its French parent company SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is a world leader dedicated to the water and waste businesses and with a presence on five continents.

Business Director of SITA Mr KK Chan said, “Hong Kong is facing imminent waste problems and has yet to decide the best ways forward. SITA believes that to shift to a circular economy waste must be properly collected, sorted and recycled so that it can be processed into new materials or energy. With a bigger presence at the Hong Kong Eco Expo Asia this year, we hope to share with industry players and the public some professional and innovative waste treatment solutions that address the pressing concerns of Hong Kong and the Greater China.”

Mr Billy Lee, Vice President of Global Energy Resource from the US remarked: “It is our third year returning to the fair. We keep coming back because Eco Expo Asia is one of the largest green expos in Asia and offers some of the best quality visitors for green technology fairs in Asia. Over the years we have gained some significant contacts as well as industry praise through the fair. We believe our innovative compact food processor can benefit a range of food-related businesses across the region, and the show gives us the opportunity meet our target customers.”

Mr Andrew Young, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation noted, “To echo the theme of the Expo, this year we will again feature the innovations of technology companies based in Hong Kong Science Park who are involved in green tech. They will showcase technologies applied in products such as water and wastewater treatment systems as well as state-of-the-art gearless wind turbines. With Phase 3 of Science Park to be opened by end 2013, we value this opportunity to introduce the development and share the latest progress with the public and private sectors. Eco Expo Asia offers us a great platform indeed to connect us and our partner companies with the wider community in the region.”

Engaging fringe programmes add depth to green technology development

Making its annual return is the Eco Asia Conference. The two-day event is held concurrently with the fair, and features industry experts from around the world. From 29 – 30 October, the 2012 conference’s focal topics will be on green building and green transportation as well as waste management and recycling. Experts from both the public and private sector will discuss the latest industry trends, key developments as well as present successful cases.

As a further value-added service, Eco Expo Asia will be offering a business matching service once again. The tailor-made programme will help attendees make appointments with target exhibitors prior to the show – guaranteeing that business goals can be met for both exhibitors and visitors.
