eco-business.com kicks off with preview event

The team at eco-business.com would like to thank everyone who turned up to the preview of eco-business.com on Monday evening at the Asian Civilisations Museum!

Close to 100 guests from government, private sector, and NGOs turned up for the event, which turned out to be a lively meeting of minds, lots of food, drink and networking.

The preview event featured short speeches and presentations from John Pearson, head of Southeast Asia Climate Change Network at the British High Commission Singapore; Howard Shaw, executive director of the Singapore Environment Council; and Camilla Hall, special advisor to the IUCN.

Founder Jessica Cheam then elaborated on how the idea for eco-business.com came about, which readers can read more about here, and ran through how each feature on the website can help the community.

Some highlights of the site include up-to-date news in the environmental business space in Asia, some of which will be under the “Features” section. Writers will also write opinion pieces under the “Insight” section, or blog about issues of a lighter nature. The announcements and events section is really a free service for the community to get publicity for events, so do make use of it!

The team hopes that those who turned up had a great time, we know we did, and also, do sign up to our mailing list and/or RSS feeds! There is also our Twitter feeds to “follow” and the Facebook Group to join. Look out for photos of the event on the Facebook Group’s page!

The more eyeballs we get on the site, the more this will be an effective platform for Asia Pacific’s environmental business community to grow. We hope to help both businesses who offer green products and solutions, and firms who have adopted a sustainable business model, get their stories heard.
