APEC wants continued development of renewable energy

Tokyo, June 22 - Renewable energy technologies are declining in cost but continued efforts are required to further reduce this, according to energy ministers from the 21-country Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.

SINGAPORE, Nov 11 (Reuters) - The United States, China and other APEC members should turn the fight against climate change into an opportunity to boost clean-energy trade and development, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Wednesday.

APEC seeks to slash emissions by 2050

SINGAPORE — Asia-Pacific powers including the United States, China and Russia are expected to call next week for sweeping cuts in greenhouse gas emissions on the final countdown to a crunch climate meeting.
