Responsibilities

  • Create information architecture diagrams, user experience workflow diagrams, wireframes, proof-of-concepts and interactive prototypes for city planning experts, academia and real estate developers to assess and evaluate urban planning or design decisions
  • Research and interface with the latest web development technologies related to visualizing urban and spatial data in order to enhance the user experience and capabilities of EDF City Platform
  • Produce some interface prototypes, graphic presentations and visualizations on 2D or 3D elements, and specify technical requirements for their production following the city platform standards
  • Coordinate tightly with the rest of the team in charge of engineering, simulation and programming as well as manage contracts with sub-contractors if needed
  • Coordinate with other departments of EDF based in Europe on the same matter.
  • Partner with external stakeholders (academics, start-ups) to propose further developments and innovations

 

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in the design of user interfaces dealing with complex data (eg. dashboards, front end visualizations, etc.)
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems including database like PostGIS,
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platform
  • A year or more custom data visualization experience using Javascript, CSS, HTML5 and/or d3.js
  • Curiosity for UX/UI design
  • Industry experience (financial services, resources, healthcare, government, products, communications, high tech)
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
