South Pole Group is working with multinational companies in the area corporate climate action to design climate strategies to reduce negative impact, develop reporting and monitoring frameworks, as well as to support the implementation of concrete measures. South Pole Group has a strong focus on identifying, quantifying and implementing solutions in up- and downstream value chains of our customers. Within this context we are currently looking for an Expert to join the team in either London, Stockholm or Zurich.

Tasks and responsibilities

Lead engagements with corporate customers:

  • Manage consulting engagements on corporate climate and renewable energy action
  • Plan emission reduction projects and assign project teams with necessary know-how and skill set to ensure the most efficient and highest quality implementation of our mandates
  • Lead the project teams in the implementation of our mandates

Support our key account management team in business development:

  • Substantiate business opportunities in direct exchange with the responsible key account managers and customers
  • Provide customers with proposals that match their needs and our capabilities

Help to shape our strategy in the field of Corporate Climate Action:

  • Enrich and enlarge our service offering, particularly for corporate clients
  • Ensure information exchange and knowhow transfer, mentor and train our consultants

Your profile

  • A university degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Agronomy or related disciplines
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience in consultancy and business development in the corporate sector
  • Sound understanding of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies
  • Experience in carbon project development according to internationally recognised standards (CDM, GS, VCS), understanding of carbon mitigation methodologies
  • Experience with renewable energy strategies, RECs, GoOs and PPAs is a plus
  • Experience with insetting or other approaches on the integration of sustainability in corporate supply chains is a strong plus
  • Proven track record on latest sustainability trends (Science Based Targets, Shared Value, PRI, SDGs, Natural Capital Valuation etc.) is a strong plus
  • Excellent oral and written command of English, professional proficiency in one of the following languages is of advantage: Spanish, German, Swedish, or French
  • Strong leadership and social skills, as well as a good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment
