Role: Shujog is looking for a qualified and experienced marketing and communications professional to direct and lead in-house strategic marketing. The Communications and Marketing Associate/Manager will be responsible for strategizing, coordinating and managing the marketing, external communications and public relations (including social media) for Shujog. The successful candidate will clarify and focus the Shujog communication message and be creative in strategizing successfully to increase the awareness of the work of Shujog and raise the profile of the organization’s work.

Specifically, the Strategic Marketing Associate/Manager will work with the Founder of IIX and Shujog on communications and outreach, such as press releases, digital media and direct mailers; and events, such as Impact Chats and Impact Forum.

The Communications and Marketing Associate/Manager will be required to support the communications and marketing for IIX as well, as the marketing and communications team’s work is shared between IIX and Shujog.

The position is based in Singapore.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of marketing, PR and communications, preferably in the non-profit, development and/or corporate social responsibility sectors in South and Southeast Asia
  • Experience in leading a marketing and communication team, with a good understanding of direct, content and social marketing
  • Strong writing and editing abilities, with proven experience in driving media relations
  • International development and/or impact enterprise experience. CSR experience will also be an advantage.
  • Academic or professional experience with sector specializations (including renewable energy, affordable housing, inclusive finance, technology access, rural healthcare services, education)
  • A degree in marketing, communications or a business related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with a diverse group of stakeholders, from public bodies and policy makers to impact entrepreneurs to large, international private corporations
  • Strong cultural understanding and sensitivity towards working in South and Southeast Asia
  • Field work experience in the development sector and a strong understanding of social finance and the impact investing space
  • Positive and self motivated attitude

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Considerable hands-on experience in developing countries and on projects aimed at under-accessed communities
  • Knowledge of and exposure to the social innovation space
  • Graduate degree in a related field will be an advantage
