Water Digest Water Awards (WDWA) is India’s premier and one of the most illustrious platforms to honor and appreciate outstanding and exceptional environmental initiatives and achievements. As the country’s first Environmental Awards, WDWA were conceived with a vision to awaken “eco-consciousness” in Indian industries and society as a whole. Our radical ambition and aspiration is to stimulate a behavioral change and augment awareness about protection and preservation of our environment, particularly water.

We strive to introduce the concept of eco-consciousness to one and all, and invigorate everyone to preserve the country’s natural resources and its environment for our future generations. The conservation of our water resource is indeed a must. Combined with this is the fact that air, water and land pollution are also significant environmental issues and demand our attention.

Water Digest Water Awards were set-up in the year 2006 to honor distinguished work carried out by various companies/NGOs/Individuals in order to treat/ recycle & conserve water. The award is supported by UNESCO & Ministry of Water Resources in India. The key focus for the Award remains people, innovation and processes that contribute to the sustainability of water resources and to highlight those organizations/NGOs/Corporates that have worked within the community to ensure that the message of efficient use of water is registered in the minds of people, institutions, government & industries in India. It is the single largest get-together of water-conscious entities in our country. In the past, the award has been conferred upon organizations like ITC Limited, Padam Shri Bhanwar lal Jain,NHPC, Grundfos, Pepsico, Hindustan Unilever, Philips, ITT, Ion Exchange, Pentair, Essar Steel etc. The award is judged by an eminent jury panel with members from IIT, TERI, Wes-net & UNESCO. The awards are witnessed by millions of Indians and are telecasted on channels of repute like NDTV & CNBC. Additionally they are covered as special feature in preeminent newspapers like The Times of India & Economic Times by publishing 13 editions across India with 4 million copies.

Why it is so Special
