Green Drinks: Collaboration & Success

This month is all about collaboration and success. Our two speakers this month, Director of Green Future Solutions Eugene Tay and business coach Brenda Tan, will be talking about collaborative consumption, and dispensing tips on running a successful green business.

In his talk titled “Die Die Must Share - Collaborative Consumption and New Business Opportunities”, Eugene speaks about the emerging trend of Collaborative Consumption or sharing empowered by technology and social networks, and how it changes consumption and the way businesses operate. He shares local examples of companies involved in Collaborative Consumption, and new business opportunities for entrepreneurs and companies interested in this new but important trend.

Brenda’s talk is titled “Green Businesses Don’t Work, the Owners Do!”. She says that knowing how to provide a green and good product or service does not mean that you will be successful at creating a profitable company. If green businesses are unable to sustain themselves, it would pose a great loss to the environmental cause.

Very few business owners have ever had any management training, let alone training in all of the functions necessary to successfully run a business. The areas of management expertise that is needed to succeed include marketing, sales, finance, accounting, human resources, customer service, information technology, systems and procedures.

In this session, Brenda shares a success formula of generating cashflow and 6 key steps that business owners need to know to be Efficient, Sustainable, and Profitable.

We hope to see you there!
