The Future of CSR Communications: GRI G4 Sustainability Reporting and Beyond

Sustainability reporting is a key element when companies discuss their sustainability process and performance with stakeholders. With sustainability reporting as a platform, companies and their stakeholders will be able to maintain mutually beneficial communications in many aspects.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines enable all companies and organizations to report on their governance economic, environmental, and social performances. The latest standard disclosure, GRI G4, has been developed to reflect important current and future trends in four areas of concern.

By placing greater emphasis on the concept of materiality, GRI G4 encourages reporting organizations to provide information that is material to their business and stakeholders. This allows reporting organizations and report users alike to concentrate on the governance, economic, environmental, and social impacts that really matter, resulting in reports that are more strategic, more focused and more credible, as well as easier for stakeholders to navigate. Everything about GRI G4, trends in sustainability reporting, and broader CSR communications, will be discussed in details in the CSR Asia Bali Forum, to be held in February 5-6, 2014 in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.

The CSR Asia Bali Forum will be the inaugural annual forum initiated by A+ CSR Indonesia in collaboration with CSR Asia. The Forum will bring together a unique mix of leaders in business, government and civil society, to understand important emerging trends and address pressing concerns in sustainability, especially in the field of CSR.

The first CSR Asia Bali Forum is designed to assist companies and their stakeholders to find answers for any questions related to CSR communications, including sustainability reporting. Business leaders and experts will identify some of the key challenges and discuss solutions in integrating CSR communications into business processes, engaging key stakeholders, protecting brand and company reputations, by ensuring sustainability report works as intended.
