2015 Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference

The 23rd Annual Global Eco Conference will be staged on Rottnest Island, Western Australia 17 - 19 November 2015.

Announcing the Rottnest Island venue, Ecotourism Australia CEO, Rod Hillman said the sustainability initiatives on the Island and Western Australia’s leading work in marine ecotourism would make for an excellent location for Global Eco.

The conference was last held on Rottnest Island in 2001 in the wake of September 11 and the collapse of Ansett Airlines. “Delegate numbers were down but it was was the most amazing conference. Delegates used unconventional meeting rooms (like the picture theatre with its canvas chairs); were issues with push bikes, and did a circumnavigation of the Island,” said Global Eco Convenor Tony Charters.

The conference is being supported through the generous assistance of Tourism Western Australia, the Rottnest Island Authority and the Department of Parks and Wildlife.

More details of the themes and venues will be released in the coming weeks.
