We must heed the call and together take action
The 10th BAQ is themed, Regional Action, Global Impact. Asia plays a pivotal role in these efforts. Rapid urbanisation coupled with continued economic growth has prompted a number of countries – among them Malaysia – to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Faced with worsening air pollution and climate change impacts, it is imperative that the region acts with urgency to decarbonise economies and lifestyles.
The pressing nature of the challenges underscores the need for unity and collaboration in the development of new solutions, designs and approaches that will help us chart more sustainable future horizons. At BAQ 2018, we’re heeding the call to action and coming together in a spirit of unanimity in building a cleaner, greener and healthier Asia.
