Richard Eckard

Dr Richard Eckard is an Associate Professor with the Melbourne School of Land and Environment, The University of Melbourne, and is Director of the Primary Industries Climate Challenges Centre, a joint venture with the Department of Primary Industries, Victoria. He sits on science advisory panels for the Australian, New Zealand and UK governments on climate change research in agriculture and leads research programs in enteric methane, nitrous oxide and whole farm systems modelling.

His research interests include greenhouse gas emissions and whole farm systems modeling of climate change impacts, adaptation strategies and mitigation options for animal production systems, leading a number of research projects in this field.

Richard has published over 90 scientific publications, holds a number of national and international science leadership roles, being a keynote speaker at numerous industry and international science conferences over the past few years.
