Andrew Turner

I'm a lecturer in monsoon systems jointly between University of Reading Department of Meteorology and NCAS-Climate. My research interests are in: fundamental monsoon processes; tropical variability and predictability; and monsoon-ENSO teleconnections and mean state-dependence, with a particular emphasis on the Asian monsoon.

I held a NERC Fellowship on The future of the Indian monsoon and am involved as an investigator in several joint Indo-UK projects including:
Modelling Monsoon Systems: NERC/Met Office Joint Weather & Climate Research Programme (JWCRP)
South Asian Precipitation - a Seamless Assessment (SAPRISE): examining the impact of aerosol on South Asian monsoon variability
Hydrometeorological feedbacks and changes in water storage and fluxes in northern India (Hydroflux-India): examining the effect of land-atmosphere interactions on the monsoon.
